Synergyst Research, a privately held company that represents some of the top physicians groups in a dozen U.S. markets, is expanding its reach.

Based in San Antonio, Synergyst has recently entered into a trio of Florida markets -- Jacksonville, Miami and Orlando -- and plans to further expand its partnership efforts to at least a half-dozen additional cities over the next six to 12 months.

Synergyst is hiring clinical research consultants for these new markets. They will seek out physicians and physicians groups interested in lucrative clinical trial opportunities and then work to connect them with various biotech, pharmaceutical and medical device companies including a number of the major players like Pfizer and AstraZeneca.

For a flat fee, Synergyst provides participating physicians with marketing, legal, financial, recruitment and regulatory services support out of its San Antonio headquarters. The participating physicians get paid by the sponsors of the clinical trials for their research efforts.
